Have you seen Wicked Yet?🪄🟢🧙🏻♀️ |

With finals season approaching, I figured it was only right to continue the curriculum style format of last week’s column. This time, we are taking inspiration from cinema’s most stylish academic weapon: Elle Woods. If you want to “What, like it’s hard?” your way to the equivalent of a 179 LSAT score, you might want to take the following tips from the Beverly Hills- resident-turned-lawyer-extraordinaire.
Pick a signature color🎀
Few of us have the energy to style daring outfits during exam season, but that doesn’t mean we have to look drab. Sticking to a color that makes you look and feel great will take much of that pressure off your shoulders. That was pink for Elle, but for you it could be any shade of the rainbow!
Dress for the occasion 🕺
In my humble opinion, Elle’s white and black internship look is one of her most underrated. Her unusually formal outfit not only helped her dress to impress, but it also gave her the confidence to speak up for her client when no one else would. Dressing up might also be the key to your success the next time you march into an exam hall.
Stay true to yourself!👑
Who can forget Elle’s triumphant pink dress at the climax of the film? It’s big reveal seared into the brain of every fashion-obsessed girl (or at least this one), as it taught us that no look is more powerful than the one that reflects your true self. Take that advice and run, girlies. You got this!

Welcome back! I hope everyone had a restful Thanksgiving break<3 Speaking of hopes, I hope you all didn’t relax too much, seeing as finals season is rapidly approaching. Here are some strats I may or may not be employing in the upcoming days.📚
…Staying Fueled During Finals🧠
Figure out a go-to.🥪
These will save your life when you don’t have the mental bandwidth during finals to decide what you want for lunch or dinner.
These should be easy to prepare and eat, but they should also be yum. Nothing makes me more miserable than bad food on a bad day.
Meal prep (shocking and novel idea).🍕
This comes from somebody who is generally not into the whole meal prepping lifestyle (yet). While I do enjoy cooking food for myself daily, I definitely see the practicality of preparing food in advance to save time over the week.
My janky spin on this is that I go to Trader Joe’s and stock up on as much frozen food as my freezer will accommodate so that I have something quick and delish within reach at all times.
Buy a bunch of Celsius.🥛
By this, I mean get your caffeine in bulk. Sometimes the hustle is so serious I don’t have time for my 10 minute coffee ritual in the morning, and when that happens I go for a canned coffee or Celsius from my fridge stock.
The takeaway here is that you should never be afraid to sacrifice food quality for academic performance (obviously I’m joking, please prioritize your health because your GPA is just a number nobody really cares about).❤️

I hope everyone’s Thanksgiving holiday was bountiful and lacking in family drama. For me, however, post-turkey blues have me reaching for the comfiest items I own. Thank God it’s (kind of) Black Friday. Take a look at the Skims sale—everything is up to 30% off sitewide. 😌SHOP NOW

Gladiator II (Ridley Scott)
After a long time of not being able to watch a movie in the cinema, I was able to catch Gladiator II with friends over break. I had watched the first Gladiator with my dad as a kid. This time around I knew Paul Mescal was in it, but I didn’t even realize Pedro Pascal and Denzel Washington were lead characters as well (Not to mention the fact I had never heard of Joseph Quinn before).
This allowed for a lot of pleasant surprises.
Paul Mescal and Pedro Pascal did a fantastic job at portraying complex characters. Lucius was more than a hot-headed fighter, and Acacius went from loathsome antagonist to beloved lead due to his humble commitment to die as a Roman soldier. Denzel Washington was, as always, an entertainer. I could never predict what his character would do next.
The twin redheaded emperors were an interesting choice. In my opinion, they were more annoying than terrifying, but Denzel’s Washington’s character elevated them as he puppeteered them towards the finish line.
Overall, it was a great film, although its predecessor is a tough standard to live up to.
