Bella Hadid Debuts New Blonde ‘Do at Cannes👱🏽‍♀️

Supermodel Bella Hadid stunned the Internet when she arrived at the Cannes Film Festival with a new blonde look. Despite gaining fame for her dark feminine/black cat image, Hadid is actually a natural blonde like her sister Gigi.

Her newly restored blonde locks first caught the public’s attention ahead of the festival’s opening ceremony, when she waltzed into the Hôtel Martinez with a blonde updo, white corset top and pants, and brown Saint Laurent accessories.

Saint Laurent is apparently Hadid’s designer of choice this festival season. At the Cannes opening ceremony — where she earned the nickname “Queen of Cannes” due to her numerous stunning outfits over the years — the model stepped out in an elegant, black, floor-length gown. The cowlneck dress subtly defied the festival’s new conservative dress code with its hip height slit and open sides.

Bella Hadid being Bella Hadid, she also accessorized the look with giant Chopard diamonds and emeralds alongside similarly sparkling Saint Laurent heels. Queen of Cannes, indeed.

NYC Happy Hours: Dazzling Drinks for a Dime🍸

You might think that ordering drinks at a luxurious cocktail bar or pretty much any restaurant in NYC costs a whopping $15, $20, or $24, but some of the best drinks can be found for much less! Try some of these top-rated happy hours on your next trip.

Broken Shaker offers a taste of Miami in Gramercy Park with drinks at $10 or less!

Pig & Butter: This Lower East Side brunch spot is one of the few restaurants that offers $5 mimosas every day of the week (just went there last Friday!). No need for reservations at their white-marble bar, and their food menu has good reviews too.

Café Maud: An East Village brunch favorite, especially for spacious outdoor seating this spring! Café Maud offers $9 drinks Monday through Friday, 3-6pm.

Fellini’s chic wood-paneled walls, and Shy Shy’s famous martinis.

Fellini Cucina: Perhaps the cheapest drink in the West Village, Fellini Cucina is famous for its $8 wine and pizza deal — stop by between 4-6pm Monday through Friday, and enjoy a sip beneath their chandeliers.

Shy Shy: This Chelsea spot offers high-end cocktails and atmosphere every Sunday, when all drinks are $12 and all wine is $10. Their martinis are some of my favorites!

The Broken Shaker: Inspired by an iconic Miami bar, this spot in Gramercy Park opens for happy hour 5-7pm Tuesday through Saturday, with $13 cocktails and $10 for all wines and small plates.

I’ll be honest, this is (a bit of) my summer reading list, so unfortunately I’m limited in what I can say about them. Take what inspiration you will, leave the rest, etc.🌞

  1. Madonna in a Fur Coat Insane title, honestly — and that’s all I really need to know, along with the fact that I’m in for some good old-fashioned summertime yearning: “All my life, I’d been waiting for her. Searching for her. Scanning my surroundings for some sign of her.”

  2. All Down Darkness Wide I came across this memoir while researching Irish authors in March, and since then it’s been sitting in a stack along with all my other to-read-whenever-possible books. “All that time I had been haunted by him,” Sean Hewitt writes, “and still I hardly knew what that self was, that version of me that existed before the world said become, and I had answered in its language.”

  3. And a Voice to Sing it With Apparently it’s a memoir-heavy summer. In all honesty, though, I’ve been on a real Joan Baez (and friends) kick recently, and I’m manifesting a NorCal summer just like hers. “I asked him what made us different,” she reminisces, “and he said it was simple, that I thought I could change things, and he knew that no one could.”
