Highlights and Lowlights of Men’s Fashion Week
In late January, the fall 2025 menswear season kicked off with fashion weeks in the global style capitals of Paris and Milan. Some journalists observed that the Italian shows were strangely subdued. Some of the biggest brands in fashion — Gucci, Moschino, and Versace, to name just a few — declined to participate.
At least one Vogue journalist was rebuffed by celebrity guests, which proved a sharp contrast to the celebrity-obsessed, TikTok slang-heavy coverage of the past.
That’s not to say that the A-list didn’t show up and show out for their favorite artists. The catwalks were flanked by stars from across industries, including but not limited to Travis Scott, Troye Sivan, and Jackon Wang.
One particularly exciting moment was Louis Vuitton’s Paris fashion show, where BTS member J-Hope previewed a new track with Don Toliver titled “LV Bag.” It was the closing song for the LV collection designed by Pharrell Williams, who also produced the upcoming tune.
If the fashion industry keeps producing viral moments like that, high fashion menswear might just enter the mainstream and make badly dressed dates a thing of the past!

There is something about midwinter’s relentlessness that beckons change — demands it even — amidst all of its spectacular mundanity. I find myself called toward media that reflects that demand. Here are a few bits and pieces.
Martyr! ❀ Kaveh Akbar’s debut novel is the first I read this year, and I am glad for it. “‘Can’t you feel this mattering? Right now?’” I can, or at least I try to.
Enter Ghost ♛ I read Isabella Hammad’s work like it could save and ruin me. Her 2023 novel on art, occupation, and the things we make and lose is no different. In a poignant moment in the work, she writes the line, “There is now, and there is afterwards. There comes a feeling of life opening…”
“Dudes, We Did Not Go Through The Hassle Of Getting These Fake IDs For This Jukebox To Not Have Any Springsteen” ༄ I stumbled across this poem, as I do all good things, and I haven’t been able to let it go since. “I promise there have always been dishes spilling out of the sink, love. It’s how I discovered this kind of hunger.”

Welcome back! Lately, I’ve been trying to be more intentional about the food I put into my body.
My recent obsession is @alissasmagic on TikTok.

Alissa plates up the most interesting and yummy snack platters, which usually include a selection of homemade dips or salads and fresh veggies/fruits.
That’s a far cry from my usual snack of Trader Joe’s crunchy curls. Taking inspiration from Alissa, here are some snacks I’ve been trying out lately!
Trader Joe’s Fig and Olive Crackers: The texture of these is absolutely delightful, and the bits of fig and olive bring a little bit of sweetness and saltiness.
Honeycrisp Apples: Over winter break, I had upwards of four honeycrisps per week. Quite an unsustainable habit, but honeycrisps are the only reliably good fruit in my life right now. I’m open to suggestions though!
Baby carrots: I’m sure most people eat these regularly, but they are a new staple in my dorm’s mini fridge. Not only are they the perfect size for dipping, but they’re also magically convenient for a lazy girl such as myself.

Who Will (and Should) Win at the 2025 Grammys? 🙌

Via Vulture News
Who Will Win Album of The Year? |
Record of the Year🎵
“Now and Then,” the Beatles
“Texas Hold ’Em,” Beyoncé
“Espresso,” Sabrina Carpenter
“360,” Charli XCX
“Birds of a Feather,” Billie Eilish
“Not Like Us,” Kendrick Lamar
“Good Luck, Babe!,” Chappell Roan
“Fortnight,” Taylor Swift featuring Post Malone
It’s the rare year where all eight nominees have a potential shot. Sabrina Carpenter and Kendrick Lamar’s hits were everywhere. Chappell Roan and Charli XCX both had enviable breakouts, even if they weren’t as tied to specific tracks. These aren’t anywhere near Taylor Swift’s or Beyoncé’s best entries, but each is overdue a Record of the Year trophy. Billie Eilish has won ROTY twice this decade, so never count her out. And, well, a win for the so-called final Beatles song in 2025 would just be the kind of shit the Academy is known to pull.
Will win: “Espresso”
Should win: “Not Like Us”
Album of the Year🎶
New Blue Sun, André 3000
Cowboy Carter, Beyoncé
Short n’ Sweet, Sabrina Carpenter
Brat, Charli XCX
Djesse Vol. 4, Jacob Collier
Hit Me Hard and Soft, Billie Eilish
The Rise and Fall of a Midwest Princess, Chappell Roan
The Tortured Poets Department, Taylor Swift
Will win: Brat
Should win: Cowboy Carter
The Grammys will be aired Sunday February 2nd on CBS and will also be available to stream live on Paramount+
