Doechii Makes A Splash at Paris Fashion WeekšŸ„

Grammy-winning artist Doechii took the high fashion world by storm this Paris Fashion Week! The Floridian rapper and singer made her grand debut at DSquared2ā€™s fall/winter 2025 show in Milan. There, she performed her song ā€œAlter Egoā€ with City Girls rapper JT, but not before strutting down the runway in a becaped, booty shorts look that screamed ā€œ2000s pop icon.ā€

Even so, that moment was a drop in the bucket compared to her veritable victory lap in the City of Lights. She attended several highly anticipated shows in viral looks styled by Sam Woolf. At Chloe, she embodied boho chic by going barefoot in a dress that made its runway debut the same day. At Tom Ford, she sizzled in a black bodysuit and matching fur.

Nothing, however, tops not one, not two, but four outfits she wore at the inaugural Le Grand Diner du Louvre. At this event, which bills itself as the French equivalent of the Met Gala, she wore custom Valentino and Schiaparelli. Her blue and black ballgown, designed by Salih Balta and accompanied by Messika jewelry, felt like the cherry on top of Doechiiā€™s growing legacy. The Swamp Princess is here to stay.

Cathedral Disco, Art Nouveau, The Bar With No Name: Welcome to Belgium!šŸ§‡

Brussels, Belgiumā€™s historic capital, is perhaps underrated in comparison to her northern sister Amsterdam ā€” whether you are heading to Europe for the summer or traveling over spring break for a conference (looking at you, HMC Europe), here are some hidden gems of Brussels:

Tropismes, a paradise of French literature, has been enchanting visitors to Brussels since 1847.

Tropismes: Once an aristocratic dance school and a 1960s jazz club, Tropismes is a must-see among the Royal Saint Hubert Galleries, home to thousands of books cleverly encased in wall-length mirrors to evoke an infinite appearance.

Plumette Cocktail Bar: A royal-blue storefront opens to a lavish velvet interior serving equally luxurious cocktails, starting at just 11 euros! My favorite is the ā€œPorn Star Martiniā€ with passion fruit purĆ©e and vanilla.

MusĆ©e Horta: This Art Nouveau gem is the former residence of architect Victor Horta ā€” if you loved seeing Gaudi in Barcelona, this is a must-see! Book a time slot online and read their photography policy before entering ā€œone of Brusselā€™s best-kept secrets.ā€

Mirano Bruxelles: A sprawling disco club with a rotating dance floor (!), Mirano is the place to be! Itā€™s easier to get in as a group, so if youā€™re planning on going solo check for occasional ticketed events online.

The Bar With No Name: A jaw-dropping speakeasy, consistently rated the best in Brussels. Try the honey-oolong drink (and look for the door below).

Honorable Mentions: Le Spirito (a disco club in a cathedral), Madame Moustache (live music and eclectic vintage rooms), Waffle Factory (unmissable Belgian waffle spot).

Should You Add These to Your Skincare Routine?

About three months ago, I discovered Piqueā€™s Radiant Skin Duo and put it to the test. Within weeks, I saw results no topical product had ever delivered. My skin became clearer, brighter, and deeply hydratedā€”glowing from within!

The turning point? People started commenting on my skin. The only thing I had changed? Piqueā€™s drinkable skincare!

The Radiant Skin Duo is an inside-out approach to radiance:

ā˜€ļø Sun Goddess Matcha ā€“ Rich in EGCG antioxidants, it helps firm, brighten, and clarify skin while supporting gut health. Plus, itā€™s quadruple-toxin screened for purity.
šŸ’§ BT Fountain ā€“ This beauty electrolyte hydrates at a cellular level, smooths fine lines, and enhances glow with clinically proven ceramides.

This simple ritual is effortless yet transformative. And for a limited time, get 20% off + a FREE Starter Kit here.

Hereā€™s to glowing skinā€”from within!

Itā€™s spring break! Almost! In its honor, Iā€™m revisiting texts Iā€™ve hauled across the country (and to various others) in backpacks/suitcases/my hands. This year, I will be in Portland, Oregon, wishing I had friends in warmer places, but itā€™s the adventure that counts, really.

  1. The White Album āœ‡ This collection of Didionā€™s essays saw me through a week spent in a beaten-down van (not my first, and not my last) criss-crossing through Southern California. I, like Didion, ā€œwant you to understand exactly what you are getting.ā€

  2. Just Kids šŸ™ Patti Smithā€™s turn came in the form of a too-short ride on the New England Amtrak and a quiet, one-room Airbnb on the rocky Massachusetts coast. It wasnā€™t New York City, but it was close enough to make me feel (maybe too deeply) the truth of her words, of the query, ā€œWho can know the heart of youth but youth itself?ā€

  3. You Made a Fool of Death With Your Beauty š–¤“ Iā€™ll be honest: I donā€™t think any kind of blurb can do this book justice. I read it on the coast of Italy in July, and Akwaeke Emeziā€™s words, her declaration that ā€œthere are so many different types of love,ā€ were exactly what I needed.

Anora (2024), Sean Baker šŸ§æšŸ§æ

Anora is only the second Sean Baker film Iā€™ve ever watched ā€” the first being The Florida Project. One of my favorite aspects of Bakerā€™s film style is his use of color and light. Anora is a visually captivating film from the strip club lighting that opens the movie to Annieā€™s wardrobe, which includes her vibrant In another scene, the red scarf Igor gives her seems to catch the light, adding depth to Mikey Madisonā€™s dark brown  hair.

The color in Sean Bakerā€™s film made Anora feel like a visual trance. I was glued to the screen all the way through. This welling of vibrant tones all culminated in the last scene, which felt like an explosion of the energy that had been building throughout the whole film.

Anora is not a love story ā€” it is a fairytale about what Ani felt she deserved, and when that illusion broke, she broke too. The final scene shows a raw and exhausted Ani. Without make-up, it becomes clear just how young she is, and amidst the dead of winter the previous sparkle of life is stripped away.

Letā€™s not forget this film is just the start for Mikey Madison. From Better Things, Scream, and Once Upon a Time in Hollywood to being the first Gen Z actor to win an Oscar, much is to come from her.
