Selena Gomez and Benny Blancoā€™s Coupleā€™s Outfits: Surprisingly Good?

I donā€™t know about you, but Selena Gomez and Benny Blancoā€™s recent podcast appearance has reignited my inner hopeless romantic. Whatever you think of their music ā€” and some people think very poorly of it ā€” they seem like a perfect fit romantically!

In recognition of that, here are some of their best fashion moments as a couple. They prove that partners donā€™t have to exactly match to go together in more ways than one.

Gomez and Blanco turned out in full glam at the 2025 Oscars. Sorry to crop you out, Miles Teller! This ainā€™t about you.

The pair made a joint appearance on The Today Show in outfits that shared red accents. Selena embraced her inner pop diva, and Blanco opted forā€¦Hawaiian dad core?

I have no idea where they are in this pic ā€” my best guess is an auction ā€” but the important thing is that they both look great. Someone get this image to those TikTok body language analysts, stat!

These clothes arenā€™t as glamorous as the other ones, but they look comfy and cute. This photo is also a great reminder that the clothes you wear arenā€™t as important as the people youā€™re with. Best wishes to the happy couple!

Feature 4: Bring Your ā€˜Northern Attitudeā€™ to Portland, Maine!

Just 2.5 hours north of Boston, Portland has so much to offer, especially as the weather gets warmer. From shopping for bean boots to hiking in bean boots to going to the diner in bean bootsā€¦ Here are a few of Maineā€™s best attractions.

Wolfeā€™s Neck Woods State Park is worth a little detour from Portland.

Beckyā€™s Diner: This waterfront diner is always my first stop in Portland ā€” the entire menu is affordable, delicious (the blueberry pancakes are the best in the world, prove me wrong), and it comes with Atlantic views walkable from downtown.

L.L. Bean Flagship Store: The best reason for a pilgrimage to Maine, this L.L. Bean is so much more than an outdoors store ā€” with a cafe, food trucks, and a 2-story bean boot, itā€™s worth the 20 minute drive north from Portland. Check out the Mangy Moose across the street for cute local gifts too!

Wolfeā€™s Neck Woods State Park: This is my ā€œI know a spotā€ place when I drive to Maine with friends. This free hiking/beach park overlooks the Atlantic, and itā€™s just an 8 minute drive from downtown Freeport.

The Jewel Box: Ethereal. Moody. Queer. Immaculate. Groovy. Andā€¦ essential oils? According to reviews, this niche cocktail bar is all of the above, making it one of my favorite and most unique bars in Portland. Check it out and decide for yourself!

Arcadia Cocktail Bar: This ā€™80s arcade is crowned with a vintage pixel sign that riffs off of Maineā€™s glorious Arcadia National Park. Luxury drinks paired with pinball, Pac-Man, and a range of ā€™games make for memorable pics too!

Arcadia offers old-fashioned arcade games with fashionable cocktails in downtown Portland.

Camila Cabelloā€™s C,XOXO was arguably the most divisive pop album of 2024, opening to a wide spectrum of reactions ā€” some called it a hot mess, while others said it was the ā€œHavanaā€ hitmakerā€™s most authentic work in years. But after repeated listens and multiple ruminations, Iā€™m a fan.

C,XOXO is not an identity realization like Charli XCXā€™s Brat, nor is it a vulnerable reflection on heartbreak like Olivia Rodrigoā€™s SOUR. Instead, itā€™s a distinct record that lies somewhere in between. Cabello curates a hyper-local Miami aesthetic with ease, embodying a floundering party girl with a sense of rakishness and loss like no other.  Her strengths lie in constructing weird melodies and layering hip-hop flows over conventional pop lyrics.

If you want to start somewhere, Iā€™d recommend the El-Guincho produced ā€œChanel No.5ā€, ā€œbaby pinkā€ and the surprisingly refreshing Drake feature ā€œHOT UPTOWN.ā€ This is the perfect spring break album. Be prepared, though, for some borderline campy lyricism at first listen. It will grow on you and feel intentional by the end.

I think itā€™s well known ā€” at least to people in their twenties who have always wanted more ā€” that thereā€™s something about spring which lends itself to transformation, to rebirth. Here I am, on the first of the month, leaning into that.

  1. ā€œHereā€ šŸ—”This collection of lines has lodged itself somewhere beneath my breastbone, beating in time with my breath. ā€œAfter it ended badly it got so much better / which took a while of course but stillā€ ā€”here there is something like desperation, something like recognition.

  2. The Sovereignty of Good ź©œ Iris Murdoch is a big fan of transformation; so much so, in fact, that she thinks it never ends. This theoretical piece of hers is really short, and fairly accessible, and very much about love and life, so if you have any interest in the philosophical, I invite you to soak in her words. A few favorites of mine: ā€œIt is always a significant question to ask about any philosopher: What is he afraid of?ā€

  3. ā€œA Poem Hangs in Balanceā€ šŸ³This work by Lina al-Sharif isnā€™t quite out yet, but I found it anyway. Arranged carefully on the page, the words: ā€œuntil / we are free / and when / we are free.ā€ Sometimes, transformation is a return.
